Added Risk - Offshore Sportsbook

Bodog is an OFFSHORE sportsbook. There is therefore some added risk when converting promotions. All other promotions you see listed on SmartStake are government-licensed, which means your deposits are insured, and you have the help of government agencies if you ever have a dispute.

Offshore sportsbooks operate in a grey area - they have licenses to operate in a foreign location (usually somewhere in the Caribbean) and they offer their services to nationals of other countries. There are no government agencies that will help you get your money back if the sportsbook refuses to pay out.

If you do a quick google search on offshore books, you will see a ton of reddit threads claiming they are all scams. Maybe this is true, but it seems to me that these mostly consist of people who never read the terms & conditions on their sign up promotion. At this point you probably know, at minimum, that the previous sportsbooks you have used were not a scam. As a fun experiment, try searching "-Insert government regulated sportsbook here- scam reddit". You'll probably see tons of threads claiming this sportsbook is also a scam.

I still use offshores, and have never personally had an issue with withdrawals. However, I never use offshores as a hedge book - I make a deposit, hit the rollover, and withdraw. I also try and follow the best practices for avoiding limits.

Crypto Deposit

Step 2: Deposit with BTC

Fund your Newton account with the method of your choice (I use e-transfer) and purchase your BTC. I recommend adding an additional $30CAD to your order to cover any transfer fees. Transfer your newly purchased BTC to your Coinbase Wallet.

Create your Bodog account and make sure you opt-in to the crypto sports bonus. Select BTC as your deposit method, and send the required amount to the address provided.
