Alternate lines
The alternate lines drawer lists every available point value (spread, total, or prop line) for a market side across all your selected books, so you can compare prices up and down the ladder at a glance.
What alternate lines are
Most markets with a handicap — spreads, game totals, team totals, player props — are offered at more than one number. A sportsbook might price a spread at −3.5, −4, −4.5, and −5, each at a different price. These are alternate lines: the same directional bet (say, a team to cover) at a range of point values, each carrying its own implied probability and price.
The alternate lines drawer in the Odds Screen surfaces that full ladder for one market side at a time. Instead of seeing only the standard line posted in the main grid, you see every available point value and what each book is currently offering for it, all in one scrollable table.
When alternate lines matter
Browsing the ladder is most useful in three situations.
The first is finding a better number. Books sometimes post a spread or total at different values, and a half-point in the right direction can be the difference between a push and a win. Scanning the ladder across books can reveal that one book offers −3.5 while another is already at −4 for the same price, or that a more favourable number is priced attractively rather than being heavily juiced.
The second is middling. A middle is a position where you bet both sides of a market at different lines, leaving a gap that wins both legs if the result lands between them. You need to see the full spread of available lines to find a viable middle — the main grid shows only one number per side, while the alternate lines drawer shows them all. The third is props research. Player prop lines often shift significantly across books, and the alternate lines drawer lets you check whether your target number is available at a better price somewhere on the ladder rather than accepting the first figure you see.
Opening the drawer
The alternate lines drawer is accessible from the Odds Screen when you are viewing a market type that has handicap values — spreads, totals, and props. In the table, rows for market sides that have alternate lines available show an ALT button in the row toolbar. Clicking it opens the drawer for that selection.
The drawer header shows the market type name and which team, player, or side you are viewing. A refresh button in the header re-fetches the latest prices on demand; the data is otherwise cached for up to 30 seconds between automatic refreshes.
Reading the table
The alternate lines table shares its structure with the main Odds Screen grid. Each row is one point value on the ladder. The columns:
- Selection — the line label showing the handicap value for that row (e.g. −3.5, −4, −4.5). A line-history button opens the Line history chart for that specific number, so you can see how the price has moved.
- BEST — the best available price across all your selected books for that line, with the originating bookmaker's icon. Clicking the price links directly to the book.
- AVG — the average price across books for that line. Comparing BEST with AVG tells you how much of an outlier the best price is.
- Per-book columns — one column per book in your selection, showing that book's current price for the line, or a dash if the book does not offer it.
The BEST and AVG columns can each be pinned to the left edge of the table so they stay visible as you scroll through the per-book columns.
Narrow your book list first
The alternate lines table inherits the book selection from the Odds Screen. If you are tracking many books, the table can be wide. Reduce your active book list in Odds Screen settings before opening the drawer to keep it readable.
Relationship to other odds tools
The alternate lines drawer is an extension of the Odds Screen and the Market view. Where the Market view shows all market types for one event, the alternate lines drawer zooms into a single market side to show its full price ladder. For the movement of any individual line over time, click a price inside the drawer to open the bet details panel, whose Line history tab charts that point value.
