Push notifications
How to enable real-time push notifications on your browser or in the iOS and Android apps, manage which devices receive alerts, and optionally receive alerts as Discord direct messages.
Receiving alerts in real time
When a saved filter finds a match, SmartStake can push a notification directly to your device rather than waiting for you to check the app. Notifications are opt-in and per-device, so you control exactly where they land.
Web push notifications
On any supported browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and most Chromium-based browsers — you can enable push notifications from the Push Notifications card on your profile page. Click Enable, then grant permission when the browser asks. Once enabled, SmartStake's service worker keeps a background subscription active and delivers alerts even when the tab is not open.
If you previously denied permission in the browser, the card will show a blocked state. To re-enable, reset notification permissions for SmartStake in your browser settings and then return to the profile page.
iOS push notifications
On iPhone and iPad, push notifications are delivered through the native iOS notification system rather than the browser. To receive them, you need the SmartStake iOS app installed. Once inside the app, open your profile and tap Enable in the Push Notifications card. iOS will prompt you for permission. If you later block notifications, you can re-enable them under Settings > SmartStake > Notifications on your device.
Android push notifications
On Android, push notifications are delivered through the native Android notification system rather than the browser. To receive them, you need the SmartStake Android app installed. Once inside the app, open your profile and tap Enable in the Push Notifications card. Android will prompt you for permission. If you later block notifications, you can re-enable them under Settings > Apps > SmartStake > Notifications on your device.
If you are visiting SmartStake on mobile without the app installed, the Push Notifications card will show a prompt to install it, with links to the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android).
Per-device subscription
Each browser tab or app install is treated as a separate device. Enabling push on your laptop does not automatically enable it on your phone, and vice versa. You can register up to five devices on a single account. If you reach the limit, remove a device from the profile page before adding a new one.
Managing registered devices
The Push Notifications card lists all devices currently subscribed under Other devices, showing the device label and the date it was added. You can remove any device with the delete button next to it. Removing a device immediately stops push delivery to that browser or app install.
Discord notifications
As an alternative delivery channel, SmartStake can send alerts as direct messages in Discord. This is useful if you prefer a single inbox for all your notifications or want alerts accessible on any device where Discord is installed.
Setting up Discord notifications requires three steps, all handled from the Discord Notifications card on your profile page:
- Link your Discord account — click Link to go through Discord's OAuth flow. SmartStake requests only the
identifyscope (your username), not access to your messages or servers. - Join the SmartStake Discord server — SmartStake delivers DMs through its own server. You must be a member for the bot to message you.
- Allow DMs from server members — in Discord's Privacy Settings for the SmartStake server, enable Allow direct messages from server members. If this is off, Discord blocks the delivery silently.
Each step shows its current status. After joining the server or changing your DM settings, use the Check button or Refresh to update the status shown in the card.
Discord card status
The Discord Notifications card is currently visible in source but may be behind a feature flag in the live app. If you do not see it on your profile page, push notifications are your primary delivery method.
Where to find these settings
Both the Push Notifications and Discord Notifications cards live on your profile page (/app/profile). Alerts themselves are configured from the saved filters panel in each tool — see Saved filters and alerts for how to create and manage them.
