Installing the app
How to install SmartStake on iOS and Android, either from the App Store and Google Play or by adding the web app to your home screen from a browser.
iOS and Android apps
SmartStake is available as a native app for both iOS and Android, and the two behave the same way. When you open SmartStake in a mobile browser for the first time, a prompt appears offering to download the app. Tapping the App Store or Google Play button takes you directly to the listing.
- iOS — install from the App Store. Requires iOS 16 or later on iPhone or iPad.
- Android — install from Google Play. Requires a phone or tablet running a recent version of Android.
Once installed, the app opens directly to the login screen. If you already have an account, sign in with the same credentials you use on the web — your saved bets, settings, and bookmaker preferences carry over automatically. Because the app is recognized as the native app once installed, the in-app prompts to download it no longer appear.
Dismiss and install later
If you close the install prompt, you can find the download links at any time from the profile menu under Download App, or by visiting smartstake.app from your mobile browser.
Installing as a web app (Add to Home Screen)
If you prefer not to install from a store, or if you are on a platform where the store app is not available, you can add SmartStake to your home screen directly from the browser. This uses the Progressive Web App (PWA) standard and gives you an experience close to a native app — the app opens full-screen with no browser chrome.
Safari on iOS
- Open smartstake.app in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (the box with an arrow pointing up) in the toolbar.
- Scroll down in the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm the name and tap Add.
The SmartStake icon appears on your home screen. Tapping it opens the app in standalone mode, without the Safari address bar.
Use Safari, not Chrome
On iOS, Add to Home Screen only works from Safari. If you are using Chrome or another browser on iOS, switch to Safari first.
Chrome on Android
- Open smartstake.app in Chrome.
- Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
- Tap Add to Home screen.
- Confirm the name and tap Add.
Chrome may also show an automatic install banner at the bottom of the screen — tapping Install in that banner has the same effect.
Push notifications
Both the native apps and the home-screen web app support push notifications. After installing, you can enable notifications from the Settings page inside SmartStake. For details on what notifications are available and how to manage them per device, see Push notifications.
