Saved filters & filter alerts

Save reusable tool configurations. Positive EV and Arbitrage alert on your saved filters from the bell in the tool header; Fantasy has presets and its own slip alerts.

What saved filters are

Every tool in SmartStake has a filter panel where you can narrow the feed by sportsbook, sport, market type, minimum edge, and other criteria. Once you have dialled in a combination you want to reuse, you can give it a name and save it. That saved filter is then available from the saved filters list, which opens from the filter button at the start of the filter row, ready to apply in one step whenever you return to the tool.

Saved filters are per-tool. A filter saved on the Positive EV tool is not shared with the Arbitrage Finder, and vice versa.

Saving a filter

Open the filter panel on any tool and adjust the controls until the feed shows what you want. When the configuration is different from the last saved state, a Save button appears next to the filter button in the filter row, alongside an undo button that reverts your changes. Clicking it opens a dialog where you name the filter and choose one optional setting:

  • Set as default — makes this filter the one that loads automatically the next time you open the tool. Only one saved filter can be the default at a time; setting a new default clears the previous one.

To be alerted when a new bet matches a saved filter, set up a filter alert from the alert menu. See Positive EV and Arbitrage alerts.

If you are already working from a saved filter and modify it, the save dialog gives you the choice to update the existing filter in place or save the changes as a new one.

Positive EV and Arbitrage alerts

On Positive EV and the Arbitrage Finder, a filter alert watches one of your saved filters and notifies you when a new bet matches it. Alerts live in the alert menu: the bell immediately to the right of the settings button in the tool's header, at the top of the board.

  • Create alert asks for one thing: which saved filter to watch. It starts from the saved filter you have applied, if that filter has no alert yet. Save a filter from the filter panel first; the built-in Recommended filter cannot carry an alert.
  • The switch on each alert pauses and resumes it. A paused alert keeps its place in the menu but sends nothing.
  • Delete in an alert's menu removes the alert. The saved filter itself stays in your saved filters list.

The menu counts your alerts against the limit: you can hold up to five alerts per tool, paused ones included, and Create alert is unavailable at five until you delete one. Like the Fantasy menu, it checks the device you are using and offers to turn on push, or to install the app on a phone browser. Positive EV and Arbitrage alerts come with Premium or Founder; without them, the menu shows the plans instead.

Fantasy presets and alerts

Fantasy presets save your Model, Custom book selection and weights, Min comparison books, Max vig per book, Hide line discrepancies, and other board filters such as Markets, Direction, and Pushes.

Applying a preset restores that configuration. Fantasy keeps its reference-book settings separate from Positive EV. See Fantasy model settings and the Fantasy overview.

Fantasy presets have no notification toggle. Fantasy Alerts live in the alert menu instead: the bell at the right end of the Fantasy search bar. Once you scroll down the board, that spot shows the filter button, so scroll back to the top to reach the bell. An alert watches one slip for picks that clear its breakeven:

  • Fantasy book and Slip: the slip to watch. Each slip shows its breakeven.
  • Filter: Recommended or any saved Fantasy preset. The alert follows the preset, so editing the preset changes the alert and deleting the preset deletes the alert.
  • Picks that clear breakeven: how many picks on the board must clear the slip's breakeven before you are alerted, from one up to the slip's size. It starts at the slip's size and resets when you pick another slip.

Create alert starts from what the board is showing: its book, its slip, and the preset you have applied. From the same menu you can pause, resume, edit, or delete an alert. The menu counts your alerts against the limit: you can hold up to two Fantasy alerts, paused ones included, and Create alert is unavailable at two until you delete one. Alerts arrive as push notifications, so the menu also checks the device you are using. If push is off, it offers to turn it on. On a phone browser, it offers to install the app instead. If notifications are blocked or you have reached the device limit, it says so. Alerts come with the Fantasy plan, Premium, or Founder; free Fantasy on Tuesdays does not include them.

What an alert delivers

When a new bet matches a saved filter with an active alert, SmartStake sends a push notification to every device where you have push notifications enabled. On web browsers the notification appears as a browser push alert; on iOS it appears as an app notification. The title tells you what your filter found (the EV percentage and sportsbook, or the arb percentage), and the body carries the match itself: the game, the market, the league, and a "+N more" count when several bets matched in quick succession.

Tapping or clicking the notification opens the tool with that saved filter applied and a detail card for the matching bet. This works even if the app is already open - the saved filter from the notification replaces whatever filter settings you currently have on screen, so what you see matches what the alert found.

The notification is generated server-side, matching the same criteria stored in the saved filter — book selection, league, market type, odds range, minimum edge or arb value, and any other conditions you set. For a bet on the Positive EV tool, the alert also re-devigs using the sharp books and devig mode from your saved filter, so what you receive matches what you would see on screen with those settings applied.

Tapping a Fantasy Alert opens the Fantasy board with that alert's book, slip, and preset applied.

Alert limits

You can hold up to five alerts each on Positive EV and the Arbitrage Finder, and up to two on Fantasy. A paused alert still counts. At the limit, Create alert is unavailable. To free a slot, delete an alert from the alert menu.

Managing saved filters

All your saved filters for a tool appear in the Saved filters list, which opens from the filter button at the start of the filter row. Once you scroll down the feed, the filter button in the header opens your current filters instead, so you can adjust them without scrolling back up. On a phone the list fills the screen, sliding in from the right; tap the back arrow at the top left or swipe right to close it. Each card shows the filter name and a summary of its non-default settings. From the card you can:

  • Apply the filter to the current view.
  • Rename or remove the filter from the overflow menu.
  • Set it as your default via the overflow menu.

Renaming and deletion are instant, with optimistic updates in the UI. Removing a saved filter also removes its alert.
