Display & behavior
The preferences that apply across every SmartStake tool — odds format, what tapping a bet card does, and which categories of bets to hide.
Overview
Display and behavior preferences are stored in your account and apply everywhere in SmartStake. You can reach them through the settings icon on any tool. Changing a preference takes effect as soon as you save — you do not need to revisit each tool individually.
Odds format
SmartStake can show odds in one of two formats.
- American — the default. Positive numbers show profit on a $100 stake (+150 means $150 profit); negative numbers show the stake needed to profit $100 (−110 means stake $110 to win $100).
- Decimal — the total return per unit staked, including your stake. 2.50 decimal equals +150 American.
The format affects every odds display across all tools: bet cards, the Odds Screen, the Arbitrage Finder, and any line shown in the Bet Tracker.
On card tap
When you tap a bet card, SmartStake can do one of three things.
- Expand — the default. Tapping opens the card in place to show the full detail (fair odds, books, stake fields).
- Pin — tapping pins the card to the top of the feed so it stays visible while you scroll.
- Both — tapping expands the card and pins it at the same time.
Choose Pin or Both if you frequently compare several bets before deciding which to take.
Hidden bets
When you hide a bet using the hide action on a card, it disappears from your feed. This preference controls whether those hidden bets are visible.
- Hide — the default. Hidden bets stay out of view.
- Show — hidden bets appear in the feed alongside normal results, making it easy to unhide something you dismissed by mistake.
Taken bets
When you take a bet, SmartStake records it in the Bet Tracker. By default the original card stays in the feed, since the line may still be live or you may want to take another leg.
- Show — the default. Taken bets remain in the feed.
- Hide — removes any bet you have already taken from the feed, reducing visual clutter once you have acted on an opportunity.
Correlated bets
Two bets are correlated when their outcomes are not independent — for example, a team moneyline and that same team's first-half spread in the same game. Parlaying correlated legs does not multiply your edge the way truly independent legs do.
- Show — the default. All bets appear regardless of correlation.
- Hide — removes bets that SmartStake identifies as correlated with something already in your feed or recently taken, keeping your view focused on independent opportunities.
Preferences are global
Odds format, taken bets, hidden bets, and correlated bets are account-level settings. Changing them in the Positive EV settings dialog changes them everywhere — including Arbitrage, Smart Money, Insiders, and Fantasy.
Related settings
Some settings panels also include controls specific to a single tool — for example, which books appear in the Market view or the pregame refresh interval. Those are covered in the relevant tool documentation.
